MAPPING AND ASSESSMENT OF RC DRAINAGE ELEMENTS

During this process, FourFront Design, Inc. compiled tabular information from 20 drainage basin design plans into a GIS geodatabase. The drainage area covered 65 square miles and included about 900 elements. Elements were assessed (both channels and detention cells) in the field, photos were obtained, and the attribute information and photos were compiled into the geodatabase. Digital data was generated, representing all elements as either lines (channels) or polygons (detention cells). FourFront completed preliminary analysis of the GIS data to determine the number of existing vs. proposed features in each basin, their condition, which features required further improvement, and lengths and areas of the features. The GIS data can now be used to prioritize drainage infrastructure maintenance and reconstruction and assist with storm water management master planning.
