In order to make the performances in the new bandshell enjoyable for both audience and performer, FourFront Design used a Solar Pathfinder to determine the sun's summertime angles, and the best position to place the stage. The outcome of this was to protect the performers from the harsh sunlight of the late afternoon and to shield the audience as well.

Building features include a cantilevered cupola protecting the proscenium thrust, public restrooms, storage space and hidden space for storage of flies for scene changes in dramatic presentations.
