The expansion included a four section, K-5 addition with the first full-featured integrated Learning Center in the district. The new addition included a 2,200 square foot library and a 3,300 square foot gymnasium. The completed expansion was 21,000 square feet.

The existing school is a masonry building located in a residential neighborhood. The community was extremely sensitive to the size of the proposed expansion and wanted the new school to reflect the scale and detail of the residences in the vicinity. An open PTA meeting was held to ensure that these concerns were addressed.
