The Black Hawk Water User District, Meade County, SD, is expanding and wishes to better manage its assets through GIS. Existing CAD data maintained for BHWUD was converted to GIS format and attributed with pipeline type and diameter using existing reports and maps. Gate valve and fire hydrant locations were also mapped. In addition, GIS has been used to identify what land ownership parcels are in the district's annexation boundary, to assist with plat research and to develop a contact list of land owners who must be notified of district boundary changes.
