To assist City planning efforts, FourFront completed a GIS situation assessment and three-year implementation plan for the City of Summerset. GIS will be used by the City to maintain and visualize data information needs for planning, zoning, and infrastructure inventory and management. FouRFront evaluated Summerset's GIS needs and inventoried available federal, state and local GIS data sets. Recommendations for hardware, software, and GIS data development needs were made, a multi-year GIS strategy was developed, and general time frames and costs were provided. Some key steps in the Summerset GIS implementation process include: establish data sharing agreements with Meade County, City of Piedmont, and Black Hawk User District; convert, create, and integrate key data sets to be used as the foundation of a City GIS; develop a Piedmont Valley Corridor regional GIS.
