FourFront Design, Inc. provided complete investigative services, design, and construction period services for this project as part of the Veterans Administration Hospital Campus in Sheridan, Wyoming. This National Historic site encompasses nearly 80 acres and the campus includes over 50 facilities heavily influenced with Georgian Period Architecture. The project planned, programmed, designed, and implemented an interior and exterior signage and wayfinding solution for the entire campus in response to Context Sensitive on-campus interviewing. Two defined strategies resulted; an exterior signage program for the campus and historical grounds and an interior signage program for the multiple facilities. The exterior signage program identified buildings and provided directional way-finding for vehicular and pedestrian traffic as well as providing initial historical interpretation. The interior signage program reviewed room numbering systems, provided for new life safety signs, new room identification and a directional way-finding signage program.
