Four Front recently developed an elementary school for 624 students that maintains the efficiency of a large school yet provides a small-school atmosphere where students and staff feel comfortable. One of the keys to making a large facility feel less sprawling is to divide it in smaller regions and tie them together in a functional way. By dividing the school into four “neighborhoods” or “pods” and making extensive use of day lighting techniques, FourFront Design was able to create an atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning.
