FourFront Design, Inc. led a multidisciplinary team that included an Academic Planner to holistically examine the Technical Schools Campus. The team was charged with initial Academic Planning, the development of a Campus Master Plan, and a phased implementation strategy of key facilities. The Landscape Architectural and Planning group headed up the Master Planning effort and is a key part of design services through construction for Capital Improvement Phase 1 of the recommended expansion. The purpose of the Master Plan phase was to define and assimilate a collective 30-year vision amongst various user and stakeholder groups and convert it into practical project requirements. Through this master planning effort, the spatial needs of the new facility were defined, and the size, layout and adjacencies determined. The new facility will include a public branch library that will accommodate and adapt to the needs of the future. Sustainability issues informed design decisions from the forefront of the project as a result of this effort.
